This was an 'issues' based project, in which i chose the issue of 'Grow your Own' promoting 'Self Suffiency'. From researching this subject in depth, i decide to create visuals to promote the benefits and positive effects that this change in lifestyle can have. I carried out a photoshoot at a local allotment using two friends to represent two enthusiastic individuals getting stuck into their plot, planting and nurturing their own grown vegetables. From these photographs i developed design layouts, using elements of my hand drawn illustrative work and written narratives to create two hand-made books, aimed at inspiring and promoting the issue 'Grow your Own'. I also developed seed packets and recipe card ideas as a continuation from this brief.
