Experimental Typography as a visual communication tool....

This was a live brief for Greater Manchester Police, a campaign raising awareness to Students about Crime in the area. I worked collaboratively with Lucy Meacham on this project.

Here are the four final posters we produced. Collaboratively, we have hand-crafted 3D typography, art directed and photographed the words in various environments to visually communicate our message. Our posters aim to engage and positively impact on the target audience, allowing the image to speak for itself and leave a lasting impression. To compliment our posters we have designed a range of promotional material, from postcards to fold out information leaflets/guides that would be posted through student houses' doors.

"Peek-a-Books" tin of phobias

This is a self directed project exploring the realms of book making. Through the many book making workshops that I have attended, I have enjoyed experimenting with various binding techniques, book cloths and book formats. From small concertina books to more intricate hard back and french stitched ones I love to creatively push the boundaries of book making and applying my design work to it is exciting and rewarding. I have created a set of 8 small, "flower bomb' pop out single page books which each have exterior book cloth and typography on the front. On the theme of 'Strange Phobias' I have illustrated a varied selection of random phobias, from birds to peanut butter. Did you that 'Bambakomallophobia' is the fear of peanut butter sticking to the roof of ones mouth? Bizarre. I have housed these books in a circular tin, perfectly fitting all 8 books.
